Story That I Read

In an alcove at the seaside

Is a place where lovers hide

'Neath the moonlit summer sky

They romance as clouds go by.

He is Romeo to her Juliet

And all others they forget

In a moment time suspends

Pledge their love will never die.

Washed by waves they rise awakened

Hearts in rhythm their spirits fly

With a kiss their hears surrender

Swear their love will never die

In the twilight starlit heavens

Cast their shadows on the sand

Drawn together they are lifted

Transcendental hand in hand.

They are captured divine impressions

Sculpted figures on the shore

Descending nudes on stairs of splendor

They are moved through rapture's door.

Was it my imagination

Just a dreamm inside my head

Was it truth or was it fiction

Just a story that I read

In the quiet of the evening

Alone by nature's shore

The lovers have departed

And I'll wonder evermore.

Was it my imagination

Just a dream inside my head

Was it truth or was it fiction

Just a story that I read
