Oliver

His voice has fallen silent stilled

Within the hearts that he once filled

His soul left dying in despair

And by his hand, his body killed.

  He left this world, he travels free

  Gone beyond his misery,

    Oliver.

Washed ashore to chase his dreams

An Irishman drawn to extremes;

Passion's child and passion prone

To changing horses in mid-streams,

  Bound now by the open skies,

  Timelessly forever flies,

    Oliver.

I'll see you in the seamless sky

Upon the clouds you occupy

And hear the Irish lilt deny

The absolute of your goodbye.

Here's to you a gentle friend,

Kind of heart, an ear to bend;

Too many years to just let go,

Forever yours until the end;

  Thirty years, we're on a roll

  I carry you within my soul,

   Oliver.

His voice has fallen silent stilled

Within the hearts that he once filled

His soul left dying in despair

And by his hand his body killed;

  Bound now by the open skies,

  Timelessly forever flies,

    Oliver.
