A Thousand Sunsets

I can see the shadow falling

  Travelers all are uged to leave;

I read the signs denying license

  Your heart hangs on your sleeve.

    Sometmes when morning's breaking

    And I'm lying here with you

    I can feel my body shaking

    Do you know, that I love you?

I know everything you're thinking

  Ridden every cloud you ride;

From the valley I hear voices

  Callin' me to come inside.

    In the dark the dancer's dancing

    And the cherub shoots his dart;

    I hear my name and I am driven

    By the rhythm of your heart.

In your eyes the sun is rising

  In your smile the stars unfold;

In the rhythm of your breathing

  Night eclipses daylight's hold.

    Beneath the cover of the darkness

    Behind the closing eyes;

    With the soul of sixteen angels

    You have shown me how to fly.

You hold your hand out for the present

  And through your fingers falls the past;

I reach out for the future

  And hope it doesn't come too fast.

    I will breathe the air you're breathing

    Stand beside you in the queue

    As we watch a thousand sunsets

    Me and you.
